San Fran...Day Three!

"The cool, grey city of love."
~George Sterling
The perfect color to write in for day three of our San Fran adventure was grey. Because we didn't have a car, we purchased a two day pass for the Open Top Sightseeing Tour Bus. It was the perfect transportation to reach all of the touristy spots we wanted to hit. First on our list this grey, somewhat cold morning was a stop to see the Painted Ladies and Alamo Square in the Lower Haight section of San Fran. Featured on Full House and many a movie, we were excited to visit the ever popular Victorian style houses. Over 40,000 Victorian and Edwarian style houses were built in this city alone in the late 19th and early 20th century.

CAN YOU SAY FOGGY?!
This was one of the days we couldn't see the buildings outside of the 36th floor while we ate breakfast.

San Fran is known for HILLS so street signs forewarn drivers to park their cars correctly so as not to runaway...

NEXT STOP...JAPANESE TEA GARDEN

I was excited to reach this serene spot...can't you tell?!

We didn't have enough time in the morning before catching our wonderfully red bus for Jenn to buy some tea. But, I think the tea garden was an even better place for her to enjoy this pick-me-up!

Some nice GREEN shots - the tea garden was very pretty, yet smaller than I expected.

On top of the big wheel with my hair blowing all over the place!

GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE
I was originally scared to walk over the almost two mile span, but wanted to at least try, and I DID! I was soooo excited as we approached the first suspension. Being up that high added a nice chill and breeze. The only part I didn't enjoy was dodging the bicyclists.
I think the pictures say enough.

Whew...it was WINDY!

Jenn looking over the edge...I couldn't get that close!
Do you see the blue sky beyond the fog?! I DO! =)

Lombard Street
"Crookedest Street"

After stopping for some lunch since it was early when we were done with the Golden Gate - maybe that's why it was so FOGGY - and three hills later, we landed at the top of Lombard Street. Hills galore, but it ended in beauty!

Notice Coit Tower from an earlier post in the background...away in the distance! Lombard street, in all its beauty, was made windy because of its intense steepness.

And back down we go...

As we drove back to the hotel, the skys opened up and the sun shined through very brightly!

The Transamerica Building

San Francisco's Restaurant Week led us to Cafe Pescatore in Fisherman's Wharf. We took a cable car halfway until it broke down and then we hopped on a shuttle bus...fun, fun! Dinner was interesting, yet tasty.

Next up...Alcatraz!
